Too squeamish - what do you think???
(Remove these adverts now by Registering for free!)When I think about the qestion - "Midwifery: why NOW?" The true answer is I always thought I was too squeamish!
So I joined the Police and after 10 years I have seen all sorts of untold horrors and I realise that I am not squeamish at all!
NOW.... do I admit that is the real reason that I did not apply 10 years ago?
Do I put in my PS? Save it for my interview? Or completely leave it out??!!!!!!
Opinons gratefully received

Re: Too squeamish - what do you think???
If your going to put anything in your PS then I would personally put in your reasons for WANTING to do midwifery instead of why now and not then.
It's not unusual for people 40+ to apply for midwifery and sometimes there isn't a why now and not then, I don't think it's specifically something unis are looking for in your PS so I'd leave it out.
I would however put your reasons for wanting to do midwifery I.e I want to be able to provide women centred care by helping women make informed choices etc.Student Nurse 2012

As said i'd leave it out! Not 'doing' midwifery for a while is sometimes just meant to be - everyone understands that is HAS to be the right time, or you're not giving yourself or the women you care for the very best of you.
