When I think about the qestion - "Midwifery: why NOW?" The true answer is I always thought I was too squeamish!
So I joined the Police and after 10 years I have seen all sorts of untold horrors and I realise that I am not squeamish at all!
NOW.... do I admit that is the real reason that I did not apply 10 years ago?
Do I put in my PS? Save it for my interview? Or completely leave it out??!!!!!!

Opinons gratefully received :D

If your going to put anything in your PS then I would personally put in your reasons for WANTING to do midwifery instead of why now and not then.

It's not unusual for people 40+ to apply for midwifery and sometimes there isn't a why now and not then, I don't think it's specifically something unis are looking for in your PS so I'd leave it out.

I would however put your reasons for wanting to do midwifery I.e I want to be able to provide women centred care by helping women make informed choices etc.

Thank you Dappy - you are a super star - thats what i have done so far so that's great - you have put my mind at rest
Think I'm gonna brush up the grammar and spelling etc and get one of the lovely ladies on here to have a look at it

No worries :)

Make sure you get some buzz words in there and relate skills you have from previous jobs/volunteer work directly in to the role of the midwife.

Yeah submit it when your ready and were have a gander!

As said i'd leave it out! Not 'doing' midwifery for a while is sometimes just meant to be - everyone understands that is HAS to be the right time, or you're not giving yourself or the women you care for the very best of you.
