Weve got a little bit of money we can use for another grant and I was wondering if there was anything in specific anyone hand in mind?

Suggestions please!

Can you hang onto it until the next study day? Or alternatively use it for someone who wants to shadow an IM (Ie the lovely Delilah and Flopsy) but needs a bit of assistance with travel costs?

Travel costs to shadow a midwife is a fab idea.

I like the book grants too they are ideal for all students, everyone needs a good book ;)

I like the idea of holding on to it, unless you ask for individual applications for any reason.

We could do a travel grant for someone to the study day?

How about a grant for a student midwife towards their elective placement?

I love the idea of a travel grant. I feel right in the sticks when in at University in Bangor, theres so little around here and im finding it difficult to find midwives to shadow etc. I seem to have to travel at least an hour to see civilisation! haha
How do you go about being awarded a grant by the way?

When we decide on what grants to offer there will be a post inviting people to apply with instructions :)

How about a study day which covers the kind of Maths and English Test you may get at the Midwifery interview. This is one thing that frightens me about the whole process. If it was just an interview, i'd feel ok but worried that I may not get the chance for individual or group interview due to failing English and Maths. Anyone else worried about the same thing x

Leah we do maths and English tests in our preparing for your interview days. Is that what you mean?

Yes but just a Maths and English test rather than the whole interview process aswell. I feel confident with the interview part, I just worry that I may not get to the interview stage because of the Maths and English test. I believe you have to pass the Maths and English to have the chance of group and individual interviews don't you???

Ah I see, yes that's how it works in most places.
